Showtime suspension due to Rossana Roces’ nasty remarks
Showtime was given a 20-day suspension by Movie and Television Review Classification Board (MTRCB) because of nasty remarks of their guest judge Rossana Roces aka Osang towards teachers. I personally have watched that episode and I was disappointed but what is more disappointing is that the MTRCB’s decision of suspending the show. It is very unfair because ABS-CBN has already removed Osang from the list of the show’s judges right after the incident so what is the point of the suspension? I believe the views and opinions of the judges does not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of the show and the broadcasting network as a whole.

Why I reacted bitterly on this is because my own mother was a teacher for over 30 years. Even when she was very ill she was thinking about her students. She was a very devoted teacher who don’t want to take a leave to get seen by a specialist in the city because her students will be “kawawa” because she will be absent for a day or two. How could Osang be so unkind to say teachers are barely repeaters and they are not teaching the students with what they ought to know? Her bad experiences with her teachers could not justify what she has said and done. I just hope she will learn to bite her tongue.
