Laundry done
I thought I was hallucinating yesterday when I came out of the bedroom and found Donald scooping up a load of dirty clothes among several piles on the floor. When he said last Saturday that he’ll do the laundry on Monday, I just rolled my eyes because he is worst than me in procrastinating.
Thanks anyway that he realized that if he won’t do it, we would all go naked.
Ella had her class in the VBS in the morning. The neighbor who had a motor trike brings them in the Alliance church every morning but yesterday they left Ella behind so Donald brought her there. I was a bit disappointed because she’s paying, how come the driver didn’t wait for her?
I am missing our little girl because she’s spending mornings there at the VBS and with other kids after her nap in the afternoon. She’s loving having a little bro in the house that mommy and daddy can be busy with because she got to ride her bike or play with her friends more. I couldn’t say no always because she’s very good at making me feel guilty that her life is “not normal” being confined here at home.
So I always leave it to Donald to decided if she can go and explore the world by herself and her friends. As long as she’s just a yell call away and that she’s with the kids who has passed the background check.
It was a sunny day, a very nice day to walk around the yard with Eman so I quickly brushed off the disappointment and took Eman outside to show him that when he marries, he should also do the laundry when his wife has just had a baby.
He is getting used to bathing and it becomes easier for both of us each day. He now smiles when I talk to him and just looks at me while he waits for me to wrap him with his towel. He’s also in a growth spurt! That I learned from googling the reason why he seemed not satisfied with what he gets from me. There it says at three weeks onward (well, he’s two weeks and 4 days old yesterday but he’s getting there), babies are in a growth spurt and mommies tend to worry about decrease of milk production because their babies shows signs of discontentment. That is also what I thought, that my breast is starting to dry up. But I had nothing to worry about because it says babies are just in a stage of growth spurt. What I am doing is to let him suck and suck and suck (to help produce more milk) until he is full then he sleeps for a while and looks for milk again when he wakes up after 15 minutes. So what Eman’s schedule each day of the week is to wake up between 7 to 7:30 am, eat, have some sun bathe (if there’s sun), take a bath, eat, nap, eat, nap, eat, nap, eat, nap, eat, nap, chat for a while, pose for a photo shoot, eat, nap, eat, nap, eat, nap, eat, play, eat, nap, eat….that goes on until the following morning. Not to mention that he poops almost every after eating and there’s no SLEEP in his schedule because sleep is long….quite longer than a nap.
After lunch and after all of us has already took a shower, we went to the Health Center to get a vaccination card. Eman already had BCG and underwent newborn screening while we are still at the hospital in Davao City so I just want the card and get him weighed. We went in and saw the midwife who sells tocino and chorizo to us. I asked about my concern and she said we can get the card when it’s time for the vaccines. I have kept Ella’s card and from there I knew that Eman will be having his DPT, OPV and hepa vaccines on the 6th week. Since we can’t get the card yet, we decided not to weigh him to because weighings are done at the other building. It was starting to drizzle so we called a motor trike to get us to Central Warehouse as we are needing some supplies. It was Eman’s first time to be there but he hadn’t seen the ugly place because he was sleeping so soundly. After going through the grocery aisles and making sure we had all what we need, we broke in different directions. Donald waited in the cashier while Ella ran to buy some tokens for the rides and me (with Eman) went in the dry goods section to look for nursing bra. While there, I saw a baby hammock that I wanted to buy when we were still in Davao. When Donald saw it, he asked me if we will buy it and I said yes if he agrees. I was actually planning to make Eman a hammock made of blanket like what we made when we were still in the city but some say it’s not good for infants.
I don’t know why. I actually prefer the one that is made of blanket because the baby will feel he’s still wrapped on his mommy’s arms. i need to know the scientific explanation but I am pretty sure I will only hear those old wives tales.
We tried it as soon as we arrived home.
He wanted us to keep quiet so he could sleep.
He must have liked it very much because after a few minutes, he was smiling.
